This little light of mine...

{Matthew 5:16}

   In the sin darkened world today, we need more people who will shine for Christ and let others see Him through us! I thought I'd share with you 4 quick things about shining for Christ. 

1.) {Why do we shine?} 

  We shine to glorify our Father in Heaven. (Matthew 5:16) We shine to bring good to others! When we shine, we bring glory to God. That's what it's all about. It's not about us! All that we do should turn people's heads toward God.

2.) {What do we shine?}

  We don't have anything in and of ourselves to shine. (Romans 7:18) Anything we have comes from God! Shine Jesus Christ. We need to have a daily personal relationship with Him. If we don't have a relationship with Him, how can we shine for Him? 

3.) {Where to shine?) 

  A: In our homes- The light that shines the farthest shines the brightest at home. Oftentimes we shine outside of our home, but at home we're dull. We need to shine for Christ in our home first and foremost! B: In our church. We need to shine for Christ and be a positive influence and example to those in our church family as well. C: Shine for Christ in your community. Let others see Him in you! 

4.) {How to Shine} 

  Start with the inner man-the inner part of you. (1 Peter 3) 

• We can shine for Christ through prayer. 

• We can shine for Christ through love- love God and others with a pure heart, a clean conscience, and a faith that is real. 

Develop a true love for Jesus Christ. That is what makes our light shine. We may know The Lord, but do we love him? It's better to love The Lord than to only know him!
